Class this past week, was by far my favorite thus far. Mangini began class by writing on the projector “I will not speak for the first hour of class.” He used this opportunity to force us to follow along by giving hand signals and typing. To begin this experiment we had to figure out he was telling us to log onto our email and access/ take a three question survey. We were told more information about this later.
At one point he asked us to discuss the difference between a fixed mindset and growth mindset. And then to create a visual. As a class we discussed the difference, what we thought that was. And then Brie volunteered to create the visual. It started with her drawing a brain in a cage and a brain breaking out of a cage. And then I went up and drew book weights on the growth mindset brain. She and I began writing descriptions of the two mindsets on the board as our classmates shouted them out. A few moments later Art joined us and took over writing for me (His handwriting is way better). A few more students joined at the board to create our visual.
